i ´d like to ask, is there any other, more gentle technique to do stone carving in SU,

rather than use solid tools please?

What do you mean by "gentle"? Could you show an example?

          hi,

by "gentle" i mean to make the same depth of carving everywhere ( to copy a surface with

carving ), because the rock is not flat.

          thanks

            Oh! I see.

Make a copy of the surface of the stone. You don't need all of it, just the part surrounding the letters and use Joint Push/Pull to push in the surface to the desired depth of your letters. Make the shape a closed solid and use that surface to trim the letters the letters. The set the letters into the stone by the desired depth and Solid tools as you did before. Due to the intersection of all the complex geometry in your letters be ready for the creation of small gaps. Perhaps scale everything up to a very large size before the intersections are done.
