Hi im alex, making solids
-
hi, i'm alex.
im a second year architecture student at Curtin (WA, Australia)
i work part time in an architecture firm and continually find myself using sketchup.
for the last 3 years i have disliked it with a passion but now i see there is no escaping it haha.i have come to SketchUcation on the recommendation of a workmate who has told me of an amazing sounding plug-in that allows me to create a solid from my model.
basically i have an STL exported from revit and i am wishing to 3d print it.
the way he described it, its like wrapping the model in a skin and creates a solid shape from that skin. like if i was to cover a birds nest with glad wrap and then fill it with concrete...
i did some looking and found Solid Solver which i will try soon, does this make sense to anyone?
thanks, i'm looking forward to getting sketchucated
