      Hi all.

When converting PDFs to DWGs or DXFs, in readiness for a SketchUP import, I normally just use Adobe Illustrator. I've received a set of plans from the local council as PDFs but every time I convert them Illustrator generates two files, one a DWG the other a PNG. When I try importing the DWG I get the 'Alert - error importing' message. I've tried finding out why the Illustrator export is creating two files but no luck. Equally can't find out why SketchUp wont take the files. Has any one had a similar issue when trying to get a PDF to an AutoCad file and in turn into SketchUp?

      Thanks.

sometimes a pdf doesn't contain real vector lines but an image of vector lines instead. Maybe that's why the conversion generates 2 files and you get the error.

If that's the case you can try some image2xdf programs or trace them by hand.
