Maxwell+sketchup transparent water/glass materials
-
hello,
I'm trying maxwell render for sketchup, and so far, everything is fine, but i can't figure out how to make a satisfying water.
I've imported some water materials i found on http://www.maxwellrender.com, I applied the texture in sketchup, rescaled it, and fired maxwell. This first try gave me a nice water-ish texture, good reflections but no transparency. Then I changed the materials to the embedded mode, and this time, i had the transparency, but no more reflections, just a flat texture.
and the last thing i tried was changing the type of the material in the embeded mode to "liquid" (wich doesn't look like a liquid, in the end)
and "ags":
so here, there's transparency and reflection, but the water looks flat, without waves, basically, like glass.
My question is: how can i make water that would look like a mix between the first and the last picture?
the fist got waves and the waters looks like it has a mass, and the last one is transparent and is reflective.thanks for you help and advices!

Maybe you should start learning something about materials and their components first... this applys to any renderer not only maxwell.
Maxwell for Sketchup is a bit limited when it comes to more complex materials (compared to the Render Suite), but starting with an AGS or glass material and adding a bump or normal map should be possible...http://support.nextlimit.com/display/maxwelldocs/SketchUp
