      hi,

i´ve just make a 1:1 copy of my friend´s go-pad wheel, and i´d like to help him to

redraw it, co he can create his own design. finally to cut new ones with laser .

could you please help me to do it, or suggest another solution with your

      own experiences?

thank you very much in advance!

note: sorry, i´ve had to zipped the original, because it refused to upload it.

The attached model contains sprocket blanks with 76, 82, and 98 teeth. The thickness is probably wrong since I coludn't determine the chain size.

I'm not sure where I've heard this, but I understand that CNC laser cutting will be heaps slower on cutting arcs from a sketchup file compared to something like autocad that does true curves. So this could translate into higher cutting costs given all the curves in your design. Only going on hearsay, but might be worth investigating.

              First hint:

you can choose the number of segments in a circle, type 98s and enter.

              Second hint:

The tape tool can resize the model....

                hi guys,

thanks for your valuable tips and experiences, especially to sdmitch for his excellent models share.

may i ask how did you manage to find out the right angle and so on?

it seems to me a very difficult task

(...unless you did it for yourself before) 😍

                best of luck!

The sprockets in the model were created using my ANSI Sprocket plugin which can be found on my blog. Input consist of the number of teeth and the chain size which determines the pitch of the teeth and the thickness of the sprocket.
