Hello people!
I thought I'd give a review on the E-Cigs I have been using to quit smoking.
Now I tried everything. Patches, gum, spray, inhalator, will-power. But I could not stop that urge to smoke; to feel something on my throat, to breathe out smoke while relaxing. I also found it difficult keeping my hands busy....chewing pens etc.
To people who don't smoke this sounds bizarre. Smokers know what I mean.
Anyway, a friend introduced me to those generic E-Cigs. The ones that actually look like cigarettes. I was overwhelmed at first but they are so expensive it comes close to buying a packet of cigarettes. They run out very quickly and you get hardly any vapour (which looks and feels like smoke, to people who don't know what I mean).
I then discovered a new type of E-Cig. It changed my life!! There is not much choice in the UK for these, but I found a company who sells a type called the EGO. (EGO is the most basic and cheapest E-Cig)
Now I am not declaring this is the best E-Cig around, I am just astounded by the vaping experience! There is a huge selection of tobacco flavoured E-Liquids or even fruity ones, I am using a Red Bull flavour which is just perfect for me. Most people start on a nicotine strength of 24mg....over time you can reduce this to 18mg, then 12mg etc. Each flavour has various strengths of nicotine and you will find you get a better "hit" from these than you do off a real, horrible cigarette. Fantastic smoking (or should I say vaping) experience.
So...over 5 weeks I've not had a cigarette. It's not been difficult, I've not missed cigs, I can continue to fool my body into "smoking" and it's not harmful. I can breathe in without a crackling/wheezy chest and I no longer wake up coughing. It's bizarre to feel so healthy so quickly. Best of all, I've saved an absolute fortune. Because you top-up the E-Liquid and charge the unit yourself, you save sooooo much money. I get all of the pleasure and none of the guilt!
[UPDATE: Still not had a cigarette in 2 YEARS!!!]There really is no excuse for smoking any more....this is actually a better smoking experience and your health will improve DRAMATICALLY!! Just look at some videos and see how much vapour you get!
**If you read through this thread there are other videos and information on even better E-Cigs, if anyone can share info on their "vaping" devices let us know. I'll keep updating if I receive any more reviews and advice.

I am now recommending the Kanger Protank 3 and Aspire Nautilus as the best/easiest beginner setup. Easy to use, cheap to replace the coils and a very consistent device. I recommend using the 1.8 ohm coils with the EVOD for best flavour and vapour production; there is a choice between 1.8, 2.2 and 2.5. For a step-up in performance, I recommend the Kanger K-Simar mod with an Aerotank or Mega atomiser on top

I have a similar one (actually two in case one needs recharging). And yes, they can be a real ("more real than other") alternative. And indeed those toy cigarettes are worth nothing.

Been using Blu. Good when you get good carts. 20% dried out or suck.
When it works it's great.
Batteries don't last but they have a usb charger.
Great for work. I can see my keyboard now.
Strange how they want to tax them in the states but not the gum or patch. -
Solo, there will be even better e-cigs like this in the States. In fact the US tested the vapour produced by these E-Cigs and they are not harmful in any way. You only absorb lovely nicotine.
As long as you get one where you can add your own E-Liquid, they all use the same principles.

http://www.e-cig-reviews.comJust don't get the toy-looking cigarettes, they really don't produce anywhere near as much vapour. You can also buy rebuildable/repairable E-Cigs for the hardcore smoker which I may look into soon.
Csaba, I also have a spare one charging while I'm using my current one.
It's strange how much better how I can smell and taste, it feels like I've discovered new senses! Best thing for me, however, is going to asleep without wheezing/crackling chest. I'm only 26 and felt like I had lungs of a 70 year old!

I had the X hale 02, what a load of crap, I had to suck so hard to get a whiff of satisfaction that my jowls would hurt after a while. It also ran flat and empty so fast that I calculated it was twice the price of the equivalence in Cuban cigars.
I'd really like to find one that works so I could smoke while working and if it's healthier and cheaper then more power to that.

I have tested the Blu and it's nowhere near as good. You can still use the Blu USB charger and batteries for the new type of E-Cig though. It's annoying having to take a few "primer" puffs to get it going, I much prefer pressing a button now and I don't have to suck my face in to get a drag!
I went from nicolites to Blu and then finally the Vegas (aka VGO2)....
edit: I think the VGO2 mini version has a smaller battery and atomizer. The one I have is slightly bigger than the one in the video.

I am 100% there will be a shop in town you can try them out Pete. The shops are springing up everywhere and are often very busy indeed. My local E Cig shop has dozens of flavours to try out. There are also forums lol But you definitely don't have to suck at all with these ones, basically if they are button operated it pushes the vapour into your mouth.
Like I said, you'll be able to find even better ones in the States I am sure. We just get what we are given in the UK!
I believe you'll have success Pete, I used to just smoke all the time while working. Not even for the nicotine, just the pleasure. I prefer the flavour and hit of these now and I have not found it hard quitting at all. In fact I didn't even get cravings, I just never smoked a cig again without thinking it!

That's the one you need right there! Mini is same, just smaller battery. I prefer size of mini and I have a spare battery.
Only thing you need to replace is the "atomiser" part every couple weeks or so. They are cheap though.
If you look at the link below, you can get a larger atomizer and in the description it says more durable and won't split. Your shop will be better equipped than this UK one I imagine. I am getting two delivered tomorrow so I'll report back if the larger ones last longer than 2 weeks.
Buy the twin pack pete, so if one needs charging you don't have to wait.
You can get flavours which are close to your cigarette brand, but don't forget to try some fruity flavours as I much prefer them now.

I probably would have got one of them, gadget freak, chain smoker, nearly 40 years of smoking etc..... but Feb last year I just stopped.
Still have a very stale half pack of Malboro Lights, lighter and ashtray within reach. -

Pete I forgot to say, make sure the one you buy has a wick that goes all the way into tank.
If you watch the end of the video in original post at 8:36 he mentions that the old version he is testing has short wicks, the new one (which looks like the ones in the picture you posted) absorb the E liquid better and have a nicer taste from experience.
If you get any information about 'rebuildable' or 'genesis' E cigs, let me know. Nobody has a clue over here!!

Just remember... It's the Nicotine itself that is bad for your circulatory system... It constricts your arteries and veins. The tar and smoke is bad for your lungs. Who knows which is getting your mouth, nose and throat.

Tobacco... The Native American gift to Whitey! Nicotine can increase blood pressure yeah. It's the smoke that causes cancer and tumours, more specifically the tar. The tar lines your mouth, throat, nose, lungs continually and contains thousands of chemicals. You need not educating, cigarette packets already tell you about the cyanide and benzene.
Tar prevents your cilia hair from wafting mucus up away from your lungs. Eventually your lungs are oozing with mucus and carcinogenic tar. More tar=more free radicals=more chance of cancer. It also ruins your life with all the wheezing/coughing.
I'm not even gonna get into carbon monoxide or the thousands of other toxins. I feel like a complete dick for ever smoking in the first place.
I feel significantly healthier since I've quit. Even being able to take a full breath in without coughing feels brand new!
I still got my nicotine yeah, but I now have the choice to incrementally reduce the strength. Eventually I will go to the non-nictoine vapour and ease off completely.
