New rendering plugin
-
I couldn't resist the cube's cube.
In fact, resistance was futile. -
@mics_54:Thanks for the head up.
But I cannot install it! When running setup.exe (with admin privileges) this message pops up:
I'm running Windows 7 ...
Anyone else encountered this ? -
no, sorry I didn't have that issue.
I didn't recall seeing any thing on his forum about it. -
Didier... If you don't know what's going on then who the hell does?
this might help?
-
Ask in the brighter forum, they are very good at responding.
I've had a long chat via email with them. -
I only have Windows XP and hope they support it soon.
-
I recommend everyone to test and use the plugin. The staff at Brighter3d sent me very quickly an installer which does not check the Win version, they are very aware of problems when you post at their forum.

Does it exact that maxi is 800 x 450 pixels ?
-
@Pilou: Yes 800x450 (16:9) is the max
Higher resolutions will be payware I guess.
But the plugin is simple, easy to use, and quite fast at renderings -
From what I understand, the plugin is still being developed so max res is bound to change.
But it is simple to use and blindingly fast and well worth helping to develop further, even at this stage it is a very useful tool for creating quick well rendered sketches totally within sketchup. -
@Box: +1
It seems to have some problems with FaceMe components that use PNG images (see trees in the background). Pixels that are totally transparent are not rendered as such.
Be careful with smoothed faces too (see black areas at the roof top). But maybe it's just my render settings that must be fine tuned.

@thomthom: Good point. Stupid me...
-
Just posting this to show how a very quick sketch can look without any fiddling about.
And I'm a total novice at rendering.
Model took about 30min (already had the cello), and render time about a minute.
-
do you have glass in the window?
I haven't been able to get any transparencies to work..yet -
No, no glass, he's still working on transparent and translucent.
-
it doesn't support layers either... hide what you do want visible
