      What would you recommend instead of GR (R.I.P.)?
      P.S. Must-have features: free, popular and cloudy.

          I use three Google apps every day: iGoogle, Google Reader, and Gmail. (edit: and Google Calendar)

          Google's decision to drop iGoogle and Reader has really given me second thoughts about supporting anything Google does in the future. 😞

          Right now I'm trying out Netvibes, which isn't too bad and looks like it could work as a combination of iGoogle and Reader for me. For example I can add in widgets to capture my Google Calender, Gmail, a simple to do list, plus all of my RSS feeds. It was easy to import all of my reader settings.

          The other one that I am trying is "The Old Reader" which looks a lot like Google Reader, but has been totally swamped by traffic due to the announcement. Because of that, they are unable to let you import your feeds - you have to do it manually, and so far I've been only able to get one of them loaded. But this looks like it would be a nice reader once they get back up to speed.

          Both are free and cloud-based.

              this is very questionable for me. Are you ready to give them access to all (incl. bank operations, Paypal, pron.. you name it) your private data ? This is ridiculous IMHO.

                @rv1974:
                Are you concerned about Feedly in particular, or the idea of total connectivity in general?
                Plenty of ways to connect-no general feeling, or well publicized assurance of security that I have seen.

                I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

                  I was going to try Feedly, and when I saw this I too got spooked and changed my mind. I just wanted to see what the Feedly interface looked like since they don't have any decent screen shots on their web.

                  Guess I'm sticking with Netvibes, although I still like Google Reader the best.
