I usually double click in an empty space, but sometimes there is no empty space to click on (when I am working on an interior). Another way is to click on the "root element" in the outliner, but I would prefer if there is a faster way, like a keyboard shortcut.

There must be a very simple way to do this!

      Thanks

Have you tried pressing the Escape key?

Now i did πŸ˜‰ Thanks. Esc brings you one level up. If I am several levels deep is there a shortcut to escape from all of them, or I should press Esc several times?

There is a menu item under the Edit menu > Close group/component (and you can assign a custom shortcut to it) but that also brings you up only one level at a time so you are back at where you'd be with the Esc button.

I guess 2-3 (or max 4) levels of grouping is usually enough (when you have deeper nesting, it may even affect performance) so pressing the Esc key 2-3 times quickly is not that much.

                Hi folks.

When you are inside the context of a group/component, right clicking inside the bounding box but not on any geometry shows a pop-up stating close groupor close component.

Click on the pop-up to close the group/component.

Of course, pressing the ESC key is faster.

                Just ideas.
