Horn Throat Smoothing
-
Hello
this is front view of speaker horn.I would like to smooth the horn throat edges by making geometry that built upon face a, b, and c. How to do that?
thank you very much
have a great day, panji. -

Perhaps he want something more like this .. Make sure the quarters of the circle are curves not segments, then run the Extrude Edges by Rails from the Extrude tools plugin .
-
I was thinking along the same lines as ely but I used Curviloft.
So many ways.
-
At first I tried Curviloft too but I couldn't get a proper result .. How did you get that result ?
-
I used "Skinning of Shapes" for that. I preselected the three curves and then ran the tool. I didn't even make any adjustments. I don't think preselecting the edges has anything to do with it.
It occurs to me after looking at your images, that the OP might want to handle this differently, though. Your surfaces isn't continuous from the "horn" portion which he already had drawn. I wonder if the horn shouldn't be drawn to extend out into the square box and intersected with it.

The odd thing is that it doesn't work at all like that !
Will see about the shape when he answers .
-
You're right. Your model is screwed up.
It works on mine. I started with a box at the origin. I just deleted the top left corner so you can see the curves without orbiting.

Sand Box from contour, Soap Skin Bubble and Ferrari can give some similar results
-
The Extrusion tools gives the best result .
Dave, I tried your model and it won't work . There must be a glitch somewhere in my plugins ! -
Huh! I wonder what would cause that. As I said, I just selected the three curves and started the plugin and presto! It was done.

Hi Panji, hi folks.
Of course, plugins will save you time but, if you want to try with basic tools, click in sequence on the scenes tabs of this SU file for ideas.
