      Hi Peter,
No, I haven't yet. Thank you very very much πŸ˜„
So tired looking even in youtube almost 24 hours for a decent way to do it.

PS: I thought that was just the same kind of tuts we could find on youtube.
I didn't scroll down to see charly2008's replies there. I hope no one else saw this post πŸ˜›

      [Ed]
charly2008 uses DELFTship there. I also had it here 2-3 days ago. But, haven't install it yet though.
I thought there are other ways to do it natively in SketchUp.
I've tried using Curviloft yesterday. Quite close to what it should look like.
Thought there are other hints on sharpening my way of using either Curviloft or Extrude Tools.

      [Ed]
Meanwhile, I'll see what I could do.
Here's the model I've tried to work on.

I guess you've seen some of the inspirational boat work by Axeonalias in the WIP forum? I don't remember any how to guides in his posts, but you can see the progress over time on some great models.

Yes, I've seen them long time ago. I have the thought long before I even know Axeonalias.
But Axeonalias, Silver Shadow, etc. gave me the thought that such modelling is feasible and could be done within SketchUp.
          Thank you sketchymick.

                Thank you, Monsieur.
I'm afraid I'm still way far from proper modelling on ship or boat.
Last night succeed with DELFTship, but still thinking to find a way to model it within SketchUp.

                Merci beaucoup, Monsieur.

                      Hi Monsieur Lemire,

Thank you for the info. I've seen the page before.
He posted the same modelling here too, if I'm not mistaken.

I've tried DELFTship several times. But it gives me 5.35 MB just for half of the hull πŸ˜›
I've made up my mind to keep using either Curviloft or Extrusion Tools for it.
Or, just sewing it by hand and soften smooth it later.

Here's what I got so far.

                          Thank you, sir.

This is how it looks like last night. Haven't got time to work on it again.
Still have to do something else to help my brother with his field work reports.

No. Please, don't ban me from the Newbie Forum πŸ˜†
I am still trying to learn. It's written on the Forum info as "Ask any question or just introduce yourself". And I don't know where else to put this post to ask question.
Anyway, even hellnbak and elisei wrote on their profile as "beginner" πŸ˜›

I made that "line" by using Pipe Along Path, to separate the hull parts. As it is shown in the model's pdf drawings.

                                      Hello,

I might be a year or so late, but just was browsing around in posts, and ended up at your post.
In case you are still interrested in different ways to draw a hull, I attached my way of drawing. It is certainly not the best way, but it's A way.

Using the original linesplan of a ship. Each line at different levels have a x,y coordinate, which put together gives the lines of the hull. All these lines stacked on top of each other give then the complete linesplan, which you can then close on the outside to create your hull.
Basically the system works as how Delfship uses their program, but there I always turned up to set the coordinates wrong, which resulted in very strange shapes suddenly.

                                      Hope this helps, enjoy
