Shape styles
-
I'm still trying to find someone who can help me with my Layout ver 3.0.16846 in Win7.
Despite the new interesting possibility to alter shape styles my version will not accept any decimal values for dashes. It changes from any 0.1.....0.75 back to 0. The value for stroke weight ends an 2 pts but I can alter by writing another value but since the 0.5 x or any other decimal value works it's of no use. -
Hello Pererik. Welcome to SCF.
I'm not entirely certain what the problem is. Are you saying that no matter what value less than 1 you enter, it shows as 0? In Sweden do you use a comma for a decimal? Which language version of SketchUp/LayOut are you using?

Hi
I'm using the English Version.....We don't translate....
If I choose anything with a decimal 0.1x to 0.75x or 1.5x , 2.5x it goes integer 0, 1 or 2.
Rather annoying. Now when I opened LayOut while wnswering I noticed another problem. I'm not allowed to change dash types if stroke chois is <1 pts. Choose 1 pts and I can choose dash style but not when entering < 0 but 1.5 pts is allright. Rather interesting.
I use these wide lines when doing borders in Building Planning so I was looking forwars to happy planning when I saw the viedeo. -
Very strange, indeed. I wonder if there is an operating system-related setting affecting this or perhaps it is a bad installation. You might try reinstalling SketchUp and LayOut--basically do a repair.

Hi again
Changed the settings in Win 7 Pro from point to comma and that did it. Now it works as You and I wants. Why the point in tha Swedish settings in language I cannot tell but now it's fixed......for now. Thanks for getting me thinking 'Why?' -
Pererik,
I'm glad that you were able to get it fixed so easily. Now, however, if you've been used to enter dimensions in SketchUp using the decimal, you'll need to use the comma instead. And a semicolon between dimensions for rectangles.

Yes I was coming to that solving too. I needed a comma in dimensioning rectangles before but now it's back to semicolon........no big change.....the best was shape style with rounded ends in the 'small lines' of some dash patterns
