      hi,
I have just purchased my second single user seat of su pro 8 for my new lap top.

hp envy dv7 - lotsa horsepower here.

      windows 8

I am logged on with full administrator rights.

I have downloaded the sketchupprowen.exe file

when I double click the execute file the normal windows dialog box pops up asking if I want to let changes be made to my computer in which I answer "yes" by clicking the yes button.

the dialog box goes away......and nothing happens, the installer does not start.

I have tried turning off all security software.
I re-downloaded the file and tried again.
      I restarted my machine
I right clicked on the file and chose run as administrator.

Anybody know of any known problems or have any ideas?

      Thanks

For some reason, moving the file out of the "downloads" folder into my documents folder and launching it from their works.

        Problem solved.

        Thanks

        paul

or....was it that I have a second monitor hooked up to the laptop and had it designated as the main display? I changed the laptop screen back to being the primary right before I moved the file to the my documents folder....pretty poor organization of trouble shooting I would say.

Well, I am not going back and re creating the problem. If any of you out there have the same issue, try both of these solutions and one will work....maybe.

          p

There is also the problem that a downloaded file might be "blocked". To fix that, right click on it and go to Properties. One the General tab, sometimes there is an option to "unblock" (or is it unlock?) something like that anyhow. Click that and that can also help make it so a file will begin working.

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.
