3DS Import Material Problem

Hello,
Does anybody know how to get 3DS files to import into sketchup and still have the materials attached? I am trying this but the models come in with the materials replaced with only colors in the diffuse slot.
I'm running Sketchup 8 Pro and Vray on Windows 7.
