Codec Problem on Animation Export
-
I am suddenly unable to export animation from SU (with scenes setup in tabs). I get "The codec is incompatible with the video size you selected" or "Unable to create avi file".
I tried different sizes and get the same message. There are NO codecs available, so it is set to Full Frames. However I used to have a choice of codecs. (Where'd they go? How do I get them back?)
This problem just started. I do not know why. I can't find much help text written about codecs. Does anyone know about codec and animation export?
I am thinking of reinstalling SU! To repair a SU setup, do you just download and install SU Pro Trial from the Trimble site?

I uninstalled SU, reinstalled Pro 8, and tried again. Same problem. No codecs in the list. When I try to render full frames, it downright refuses! Totally uncooperative!Oh dear, what to do?

What version of SketchUp and why isn't it in your profile?

-
Oops, now it is!
-
But which version of Windows?
-
Win XP
The profile should have a place for that!

Hi Joel !
If I am not mistaken you might miss some video codecs .
Try to download and install a video codec pack and see if it works.
The video codecs help in creating the avi video and compression stuff.Hope it helps !

I think the codec options are based on what is installed on your computer. Have you tried downloading any codecs?

But where did all my installed codecs go? Last I checked, there were about 8.
I downloaded and installed the Classic Windows Codec Pack from Cnet (who I trust) and tried another export. Same problem! Still no codecs show up in the dialog.
