Copy of SketchUp
-
I am running the latest pro version on my at home office pc and I want to install an exact copy on my workshop pc.
Both machines have the same size monitors so I should be able to layout the screen menus the same.
What is the best way to do this?
Which folders can be copied from one install to the other.I have done a complete install from the download on the workshop pc.
Thanks,
Larry

You could copy the Plugins folder as well as Styles and Components. Before you do, you might want to have a good serious look at plugins and materials you don't use and get rid of them. You can send your template over. It is possible to copy the Registry files to get the toolbars in the same positions but it's not that difficult to do it manually and you have less risk of screwing something up. Make a screen shot of your current toolbar layout and take it with you to the other computer.

See this topic for answer:
Moving settings to new computer
Why do it manually when there's a native wizard ...

for saving the whole SU prefs (registry) on the old system and restoring to the new system, you may want use our free BackUp Prefs tool f. Win (no malware, no spyware, no nagware, no installation).

the (near to no) GUI is in English, should be feasible for everybody.
This release will cease to work if the registry key will change to 'Trimble' with a future SU version.
