Advanced Modelling

Hi,
I'm working with sketchup quite a while now and i'm used to the standard construction modelling sketchup offers. I'd like to take it to the next step now and do some advanced modelling. I've seen Artisan and Vertex Tools and instantly fell in love with both.
Now i'm looking for some tutorials that help me step into that. A video tutorial would be great - or an ebook. I'd love to pay some money for that but having a tutorial alway makes it easier to step in
Any suggestions?

Yeah i know both of them but i was looking for a more general approach like what is important on this way of modelling and really starting from the beginning.
I don't eve know how to bringt that lot of vertices on a volumetric body in sketchup... like.. you know... beginners section of this part.
All i did so far in sketch was simple extrusion and a bit of rounded corners with plugins

TBH, I don´t know where to find the beginners section. But as Whaat said: To get you started fast with Artisan, be sure to download the Artisan Quick Reference PDF which gives a summary of the controls for each tool included in the plugin.
The same goes for the Vertex Tools.
Some learning by doing is inevitable, though.
So do some modeling, show us what you came up with and ask questions when you get stuck -

@numbthumb Yeah you're probably right. I just gotta do some learning by doing - just thought there would be some tutorial about the basics to find the easier step into all that. I'm quit confident about what artisan and vertex tools are about to do but you always need the basic model and most of what i saw (e.g. under Hierus Link) places big question marks on my head about how to get to the basic model
But anyway... i'll try hard and i'll find out

As for creating basic low poly geometry, i.e. proxies, there are some older video tuts, but the principle is the same:

I agree there's some basics that some people just seem to understand. Besides the proxy results, there's just creating meshes from scratch, or simply how to draw the proxy shapes. I think if you watch car model videos, or buy one of the SCF books on car modeling (or a chair with organic shapes), you'll see how people approach some of this. I'm looking at learning more of the same things.
