Mystery window with a picture of a ruby
-
When I open sketchup a small window with a picture of a ruby appears - see screen shot below.
I can close the window and it doesn't cause any problems.
Just a bit of a mystery as to why it's started to appear - anyone have any suggestions?(Mac 10.6.8, Sketchup Pro 8.0.14345.)

That's Fredo's plugin update window (some other developers also use it). Click on the ruby image and a small dialog opens letting you know which plugins are up-to-date and which need to (or can) be updated to the latest version.
Also, there is a checkbox not to open this window for the next 30 days or so...

Or type in 999 and it never shows up.

It should maybe seriously contain a name/label so that it's more obvious what causes it and what purpose it has.
(I mean obscure things make people think of malware, but it definitely isn't and shouldn't look alike?). -

Good advice. It gets a bit annoying. I would rather just check the plugin forum every few days.

Thanks everyone
It's relief to know it means no harm and may even be useful!
Thanks again
