Hello! I've measured everything in my kitchen -- floors, doorways, cabinets, appliances, a couple oddly-sized & -placed walls -- and I want to create a 3-D model of the whole thing. So far I've managed to make a 2-D sketch of a single wall of cabinets. I can probably make individual files just like that for every wall, but I'd really like a "room" that matches my floorplan and has all the things. Any advice?

      Thanks!

If you mean you have never used Sketchup before, then in order to design a kitchen you would need to spend time learning how to use the software first. Sketchup is a fantastic tool but it is not a 'kitchen design' package, it's a drafting package. If you only need to design the one room you might want to look at this http://www.homestyler.com/
You can design your kitchen online for free and create 3d views. It may be better suited for your needs.

Learn the basic modeling tools and make good friends with the "tape measure tool". Follow your measurements and you should be alright. Sketchup is very easy to learn. (I said that assuming you are not fully acquainted with the interface)

            Thanks, everyone!

I got familiar with the program and sketched up some ideas for a wall that needs cabinets. So far, so good. I'll check out your recommended links this week. Thanks again!
