Music - progressive jazz - miRthkon
-
You folks have shown remarkable restraint in keeping these bit waves free of music and food related drivel. I have borne up under these restraints for as long as I could, but un-named others have snuck in little bits and links and snippets and now the house is coming down.
So, this being the Corner Bar, I thought I'd clearly share: it is what I call progressive jazz...the un-evolved heart of this thread...
Use this for the audio, but visually it is just an album cover:
[flash=560,360:g036teww]http://www.youtube.com/v/peRzWdE7Rgw[/flash:g036teww]Use this for something to look at, if need be or you are curious (video of live track, not same session; audio not as good so turn off sound while listening to first; if you care, you will have to sync them yourself.)

Their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/mirthkon
Could someone tell me how to format this properly? Audio track embed from myspace:

That is "cubist" music
By Georges Terzian
PS Have you listened the Epic Skechup music ?
And my favorite pianist, maybe few jazzy parts hidden somewhere!
You are very lucky the last upload is a very classic one![flash=560,315:2danltku]http://www.youtube.com/v/WnSnmY3gaMM[/flash:2danltku]
His left hand is... and the right an azimuted butterfly! -
Yes, sir, I agree that it is cubististic.
And thank you for your links but my prefs are rather narrowly defined, as much as I don't really like the sound of that.
In France there are so many that fit my bill (even if they are not all french Univers Zero, Marc Ducret, Philharmonie, Volapuk, Yang, Zu, Miriodor, Far Corner, Birdsongs Of The Mesozoic...

I don'y know if you have yet seen the French very old group Magma always living ?

Not sure of your mixology, though I love your ingredients.
When I first heard miRthkon, I thought Hot Rats FZ... dear among the dear.
Especially these..."The Gumbo Variations"
[flash=560,360:25g5cnrb]http://www.youtube.com/v/isa0GlhRZYY[/flash:25g5cnrb]"It Must Be a Camel"

4. 21:48 "Little Umbrellas"
The entire album. -
The name is familiar and now I see why.
Very nice stuff (but not my video title).

EDIT: I see now I have a Pandora Magma station. Self-generated playlist is rocky rather than jazzy, though.

Well, it's clear that for me posting to this thread is too time consuming, unless my intended standard is lowered... from the quintessential to the fantabuloso. I hope there are at least occasional posts from others consistent with the thread to whet the appetites and expand the palates and familiarity of the interested.
Ben Monder. What the video lacks in audio quality is made up for in revealing the apparent intensity and devotion of the artist. To me, his compositions seem reverential more often than not.
