It's not uncomfortable with no cushions.

It was pointed out that the chair looked kind of narrow. 30 seconds and it's 3 inches wider.

I like sitting in these chairs. One usually needs a winch to get out of them tho.

                    Nice work. 👍

If I make it look easy...It is probably easy

                      Thanks, David.

I've been wondering about hinging the seat at the front with a latch on the back and a big spring underneath. 😉

Dave is this something you're gona build or was this just an exercise? I would love to build some chairs like this. I think it would be an good exercise for me to not use pocket holes!

Kurt, I drew it because a guy on a woodworking forum asked about what changes he'd have to make to the chair to put a cushion on the seat without changing the relationship between the sitter's arms and the arm rests. That's why the one on the right has a cushion.

After drawing it, I got to thinking I might build one for my screen porch if I can convince my wife to rearrange things a bit. This one is dimensioned to be made from 5/4 WRC but I was thinking about using something else.

It's a good idea to get away from your Kreg jig for awhile. 😉

I drew it out with plans to build it with lumber I had in the shop but I think my dimensioning are off a little.

That doesn't look so bad. Yours would be an easier build. The original (and mine) tapers toward the back.

That creates all sorts of bevels that need to be cut.

Yeah I looked them up and all the ones I seen do taper. I decided to just keep it straight for a quick and simple build.

Your stamp says 'Drafting' (or similar). Would 'Digital Modeling' or some such be better for marketing? I don't really care for marketing myself, but you may be for hire...
