Request for Inspiration - Volume Studies
-
I'd be interested in seeing nice examples of how people illustrate early stage volume massing site models. I'll start with a couple of examples. (Not my own - just found on the intraweb.)

This site looks a lot smaller in scope and scale than your examples, and I had to dig hard as it was done in 2009, but I would love to see how others handle massing, even on an intermediate scale.
So here is one of a marina development,(still in zoning amendment process) modeled in Skp, and I can't remember if it was rendered Kerkythea, or if it was the real early days of Thea Clay.
The houseboat view has PP in Photoshop.
 Great ideas for a thread!

Hi, I bumped into this thread by NicolasWeh on the Lumion forum and it made me think of your post:

You might look at mrdcon's (member) website - has some town planning studies on it.

I tend to love the look of faux hand crafted timber models.

Hi Solo Not quite sure just what level of finish you are looking for but here are a few shots that might get the vital juices going. Hope this helps a bit. Dave

Some work, some are rendered, others are sketchup.
