Rendering Extentions & Multicore

How many cores do most of the Rendering Plugins cap out at? While rendering with Podium it maxes out my quad, so I'm ready for a 3930k, but considering a dual CPU rig if they will they make full use of it. What is the limit?

Also, does Video Card affect rendering speed at all?

Not sure if they impose any limit. I'd be surprised if they did.

Depends on the render engine - some support rendering with GPU - some doesn't.
