      Hi Everybody,

Don't know if this is the right place for this but I need some help with environment/landscape modeling. I was wondering what the best 3d software is for modeling/sculpting landscapes. I know it can be done in SU with sandbox tools, but that doesn't work for me. The basic landscape can be done but adding more detail is very cumbersome. I know Vue has landscaping tools so that might be a good option. My current workflow is SU->C4D->vray. Cinema 4D lacks good landscaping tools in my opinion. I'm looking for landscaping tools like in Unity3d where you can use brushes to raise and lower landscape and paint on textures. Where I can import my SU model and then sculpt the landscape around it. Hope this makes sense.
Some hints or pointers would be great.

I create video tutorial series about several 2D & 3D graphics programs.

Have you tried Artisan? It includes sculpting tools (along with many others) that are very useful for landscape and terrain modeling. I do a lot of landscape modeling myself (golf courses for example) and I use it all the time. Even if I hadn't created it, I'd still be recommending it to you... πŸ˜„

Thanx for the good tips. I'm going to take a look at Artisan. Didn't see the other tools like sculpt when I first learned about Artisan.

I've tried Lumion, but my GPU isn't up to par. And even with a good workstation I think Lumion still doesn't seem to work fast.

When I finish the project I will post it in the Gallery.

                Hi Greetz,

I would suggest Vue, which is the reference in term of software for landscape modelisation. There is an architectural bundle that might actually be interesting for you:
You can check the following address:
                http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/vue/vue_archi/complete/

However, if the render quality is not so important for you and you want instant results, lumion is a solution.

                Hope this helps.
