I've ordered the vase example as a 3D print out of ceramics. There it is!...
-
Looks awesome! You must (rightfully ) be thrilled!

nice cotty. did you use i materialise? How much did that cost if you don't mind me asking?
I was actually looking at i-materialise ceramic printing last night, looks great.
Did you have to enlarge/modify your model to compensate for 2mm radii on the edges?
-
Thought I'd show the model with just the AO applied

I used shapeways. It cost 30 Euro incl. shipping. (It is ca. 7cm tall)
I used the raw STL-export without any modifications for the upload. You can see the STL-mesh attached.

Love the model Carsten, that turned out great. Can you put a flower bud in there and snap a pic for us?
-
would make a beautiful candle holder too. good price for that and just look how it turned out!!
-
Ceramic 3d printing you say...gives me an idea of something that will sell very well in Colorado.

I will make a picture as soon as there are some flowers in my garden

Does any advantage to subdivise "Flat surfaces" ?
for example here all the bottom part -
Yes, from some angles you can see the stretching in renders. I would use 2 more loops.
