Sketch Up 8 crashes with solid tools

Just had a question re: the "subtract" solid tool. I'm building something, full of ovals and a cylinder, and when I try to get one solid group to cut out parts of the other, Sketch Up crashes. I looked online and found the problem mentioned in a forum, but I wasn't able to figure out the fix...any thoughts? I'm on a Mac Book Pro running 10.6.8

Could you show us what you're working on? Is it very small? Are you using high segment counts on the circles and ovals?
