      Hi all and season's greetings !!!

      I wonder if anybody ever tried to model things like my attached picture...
      I managed to get the "tree ring" top quite right...
      but I really dont have much idea what texture to apply to the side faces...
      My pic is left on projected... but I think applying another wood texture wont really fit either...

      So... any suggestions ???

        I'd search for some bark textures and try those. Most wood grain textures won't work since your slabs are cut the way planks are cut. The top faces look pretty nice, though.

          but this is supposedly to be no bark polished wood cut πŸ˜„
          Will try I guess with a very pale color one....

            I see. Well, I would go with something that is about the color of the sapwood but with very little variation in color. You've about got it now. Just get rid of the dark streaks. And perhaps soften the edges so you don't have those vertical lines showing.
