Face multiplier (or divider?) needed
-
Hi all, i'm trying to solve this problem: need to divide existing faces on my SU models in order to have smooth 3d printing.
To be more precise: for what i know, 3d printers don't recognize the SU edge softening function : so, the resulting print will show hard triangle faces instead of the smooth surfaces you see in SU.
It appears that the only way to obtain smoothness is to increase the total number of faces of the model, more or less , the Zbrush "divide" function.
Had a look at TTedge tools, but it flattens the surfaces when dividing a face-it's meant to do that- instead of creating new faces ACCORDING to the three axis, that is instead what i'm looking for.
Anybody knows about? Thanks -
do you mean like that? http://www.smustard.com/script/SubdivideAndSmooth
or that? http://support.google.com/sketchup/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95041 -
Thank you for the quick answer...don't understand why Google couldn't find those, but whatever...trying with the Sandbox, looks like it works best when selecting small entities ,one at a time, instead of applying it to the whole object. It means it takes some time to get the whole thing finished, i think, but it's a start, really. Thanks Paul.
