Layout Font Issues

Hi.
I have encountered an issue with changing the font colour in Layout. When changing the font colour from black to red it moves the format of the text. Then the rest of the txt has graphical issues on the layout doc which in turn causes layout to crash.The text is model info from a SketchUp model, highlighted and copied into Microsoft excel then copied again into layout, so that it has a nice grid format.
When editing the colour of parts of that text it causes the issue.
When this didn't work I tried to import it with the colour changed in excel which again caused the same crash.Also as a general moan, Layout is so much slower on a PC than a Mac is there a way to solve that issue?
Does anyone else have any of these issues or has anyone come across them?Cheers

LayOut is currently setup to import text in RTF format. The method I use for creating tables in LO is to copy the table from Excel to Word, convert the table to text using tabs to separate columns. I save the file as .rtf and then insert that file into LO. If you want to edit the table's format, text color or text, right click on the text box in LO and choose to editor in the text editor which should open Word.
