Where did you hide my plugin?
-
Yeah I know nobody here had anything to do with it.
Here is the situation, I downloaded the symplify contours (which doesn't work the way I expected, it just deletes my terrains.)
Anyway it is in the plugins menu, a gui pops up when I click it. You set degrees and some other function. Well the zip file is in the plugins folder, but I can't find the actual rb file, even doing a search it is not where I can see it, but if I unzip the zip file my unzipper asks me to replace the plugin?
What this comes down to I want the plugin gone, how can I remove somnething that is not there? -
Why is the zip file in the Plugins folder at all ?
The zip file is simply the container of various files or subfolders of files that need to go into Plugins folder.
Depending on the tool you've installed there will be files/subfolders in Plugins.
'SimplifyContours.rb' is the tool to which I guess you refer ?
Simply remove that and any zip that it came in ?
If your OS options hide file-extensions if might show up as 'SimplifyContours' in the Plugins folder.
Or IF you have mistakenly added it to the Tools or Tools/Sandbox folder it might be loading from there ??Incidentally you use 'SimplifyContours' on contours BEFORE trying to make them into a terrain NOT afterwards...

Tig I did that already, the zip file is gone, I have my system set to show all extensions, even hidden system files. I have done a search of the plugins folder using *.rb, *.rbs, simplify, and contours. It is simply not there, or very well hidden. But it remains in the plugins menu, even after a system restart.

Did you look in the other folders I mentioned ?
Files in there also auto-load on a Sketchup restart... -
If you don't have 'full access/security permissions' for the ../Sketchup../Plugins folder [and you should!] and Vista is set up in one of its quirky ways you could have a 'Compatibility Files' issue ?
Is there a button saying 'Compatibility Files' in the top of the Plugins folder's window ?
If so click on it and see what's there...Alternatively look in this folder to see if there's any thing wrong...
C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 8\Plugins
Files in there will load into Sketchup but be hidden from you - 'to protect you from yourself' in the daft way of Vista... -
Found it, in a plugins folder, but not the same one I was looking in, this folder had a few folders 6 or so, and a few rb. files, may have been the auto load folder you mentioned. At any rate it is gone.
Thanks for your help!
