or, take the pdf or eps file to your local laser cutting service (there are a bunch of those nearby.. not sure if they're easy to find in smaller cities)
if you send the file off then have the kit mailed back to you, i'm not sure how long it will take..

yeah, just a single outer shell.. (sketchup solid)
I'll try some other non-solid exports later to see what happens

Instantaneous ? I can't test I have a PCoh, yeah.. instant.. in the first screenshot i posted from the app, you'll see the panel on the right side.. as i change the parameters on the left, the cut list on the right updates along with the model.. the pdf is the same thing as the right panel so it's just a matter of saving the pdf..
the app gets sluggish when you start making a whole bunch of intersections/slices.. i imagine these real time booleans require some serious calculating power so i'm not sure if they'll be able to improve it in that dept.

Is this feasible in a real world scenario?
Would you actually frame and skin and ramp/bowl in this manner or is this something that would be new in this field?
The reason I ask is because I saw a few videos of Team Pain in action. Stunt Junkies on Discovery showed the Grand Canyon ramp. So if this is a proof of concept then I'm intrigued.

yeah.. entirely feasible

i'm not 100% sure i'd like to do it like this because i'd be paying a cnc operator to do most of the cuts instead of my crew.. i gotta look out for the boys you know
the mirroring scenario works out ok though.. the boys get their cash and people have something cool to look at as well as something awesome to ride.

oh yeah? then you saw me on there
(depending on which clip you saw)…90% of team pain's wood projects over the past decade are my projects (design and crew leader)
