      Hi all,

Here you'll find a great plugin with multiple capabilities, free of charge, published by Simfonia.fr: SAT stands for "SimFonIA Animation Tools"
      English page: http://www.simfonia.fr/simfonia-animation-tools-en/
      French page: http://www.simfonia.fr/simfonia-animation-tools/

      Main features:

      • Light 3D modeling (SketchUp)
      • Association of values and attributes
      • Automatic animation of the 3D model and video production
      • Presentation of 3d animated results on a web site (no browser-plugin required)
      • Control of the Intellectual Property, simplified sharing with all the participants.

Lots of examples and videos, technical explanations on the Simfonia.fr web site.

[This info was sent to me by Yannick HERVE from the Strasbourg University]

        Hi Didier,

Can you tell me where it says this is free? I couldn't find any download link.

        But it does sound intriguing..

The simulation data from any tools, saved as a file, can drive a 3D animation. The SAT application consists of a SketchUp plugin (SAG), a visualization tool (SAV) and a javascript library (SAW).

The scene is drawn with the SketchUp free software, then the user makes associations between the simulated values and the graphic attributs (position, size, orientation, color etc.). One single click allows to launch the animation and then to save it as video but also as a file which will be distributable and re-playable without any constraint (in that case manipulation and animation remain in 3D). The animation could also be visualized and manipulated by the intermediary of a web site.

Thanks to the SAT tools, the productivity level become unreachable by traditional methods.

            Hi Didier,

            this looks fantastic,
I've spent weeks and weeks building animations for 'muscle wire' mechanisms in the past.

I was wondering how long it took to get your key, I was expecting the usual 'auto reply', [couple of minutes], but have had nothing back...

@Rich have you managed to get one?

No, I didn't seem too clear to me the exact intention so I'll wait until more is disclosed.

my code arrived, so, when you go to the page, there is a 'link' for an email request for the key, when you click it, a pre-addressed email should be generated by your mail program. in the subject box it should have the word 'code', if not add it and send. don't write in the email... took a couple of hours...

                  john

or.. send a mail to info.sat[[at]simfonia.fr with 'code' as subject. replace at with @

@ Rich: I've got my code 3 hours after I sent the request.
