Welding "Groups" Together

Got a SU model her that's in "groups". What I need to do is "weld" the whole thing together, but I haven't been able to find a tool in SU that does this. Any ideas?

Right click on the groups and 'explode' them, then select all and right click, 'Intersect Faces' >> 'With Selection'.
If you don't want them all welded together, make new groups with 1, 2, 3, etc.. groups first then edit that group by double clicking it, do your explodes and then click out of the new group to move on.
You will end up with internal faces, but that's another story...

Or it may be that you just want all those groups to move around as one, if so simply select all and make group.

To combine "solid" groups, SU 8 has the new "Outer shell" tool that automatically removes the internal edges and faces created if you use intersect. The Pro version has even more "solid" tools.

It is your choice to keep everything in groups. It is probably more practical to make as much of that into components as possible, because of the reduction of file size where identical elements are used repeatedly, and the ability to label these for future use in the same or other files.

Does anyone know of an 'inner shell' app where I can get a clean definition of just the internal facing surfaces, where all the extra overlaps and surfaces outside the internal volume are deleted? A reverse of the SU8 function. I use SU to create volumetric models for internal ray-tracing for acoustic analysis. We basically want a blow-mold of the model, with holes all plugged and extras sliced off.

If I understand your question right, you want the Intersect tool from the Solid Tools set. You'll need Pro for that.
