Auditorium Seating - Help

Can anybody suggest a way to add auditorium seating. The rows I'm trying to use are curved. I've tried making an straight array of seats curved by using "shape bender" with no luck. SU crashes if I try to bend an array of more than 2 or 3 seats. This is my first attempt at SU so please forgive the mess in the example. The arched lines are where my rows of seats need to go. The aisles are also in place.

Thanks for getting back to me so fast. I tried copy path and it rotates the chairs on their sides. Also tried stringer with no luck.

For Copy Along Path, you just need to adjust the component axes so the seats will align correctly. Put the component origin at the outside of the front left leg (as you're sitting on the chair) and use Spacing for placing them. It would really make it a lot neater if the arcs for the locations of the rows had more segments.
Your model needs some help other than just placing chairs. You have a lot of reversed faces that should be corrected and your chair could be improved to make the modeling more efficient especially considering the large number of copies you'll have.

May I suggest that you look up the Google Sketchup tutorial on YouTube regarding array copying using the protractor tool. You can populate your space by number of seats(copy multiple) or by division of the arc. I do not know how large your auditorium is, but an effective design starts with optimized radiuses from the center of focus and careful consideration of lines of sight, as in sloping floors. In fact, major seating manufacturers use a variety of seat widths to optimize rows. If you are just doing somebody's home theater, you probably won't need this criteria.

I used the rotate tool on a similar project...hit the control key to copy a bunch at the right spacing (the degree you pick for each row), then some minor rotate adjustment of the whole row of seats will clean up the aisles.

I mispoke myself. I meant the Rotate tool, which engages the protractor.
