Could you make them separate to install?
What do you mean?
Fredo
I mean you are providing a set of tools and I have to install them all at one time. But I have already installed some of them and made my own icons for them.
Actually I am using sutool of Wikii as a manager of all my plugins. And this set of combined tools doesn't support that.
I konw I can also control display of the icons through your LibFredo6, but it would still be wonderful if you could continue providing these tools als seperate plugins at the same time.

I understand.
I am not a user of Wikii's SUTool. Can you tell me how you bind the icon / command to the Plugin.I can try to offer an interface which is compliant so that you keep seeing the plugins as standalone.
Fredo
PS: I regrouped the plugins to minimize the footprint in SU, (i.e. have a single menu item). I also provides a Quick Launcher.

I address to you with the request, to make calculation function on length;
Millimetres running
Centimetres running
Metres running.Probably to execute it?
I thank you.

fredo excellent tool. thank you very much.
A query. You can add a tool to measure length of vectors, curves, polylines etc ...? -
Fredo. Great Tool.
One question. The sorting is by either Material or by Layer.
Any chance to add By Layer then by Material?
Something like this?Layer1
Material 1
Material 2
Material 3
Layer2
Material 1
Material 2
Material 3Regards.

NEW RELEASE: ReportLabelArea 2.0a - 19 Dec 11
ReportLabelArea is a rework of the previous ReportArea standalone plugin. It provides:
- More visual features for Reporting and Browsing for Areas
- Creation, update and Edition of labels with Areas
- Area formatting (choice of unit and decimals) for all functions
There are two videos to give an idea of the main features of the plugin
ReportLabelArea is now published as part of the FredoTools suite of Plugins
See main post of this thread for more information.
Fredo
Is there any way to automatically update existing labels if the area has changed? I could not find a way to do so, but perhaps I am missing something
Thanks for such an amazing plugin btw.

I thought about it and there is a way. I hesitated because it obliges to store some information as attribute of faces and use an observer (notably not very stable in Sketchup). This latter issue made me hesitate as the plugin could have bad side-effects even if you do not use it at all.
One possibility is that I introduce a "refresh" option to update all labels. Maybe I'll do it in a next release.
Thanks for the suggestion

You are most welcome. A refresh button but be ideal in my opinion.
I never expected the labels to be updated automatically anyway since that would probably have a negative impact on performance (just wild gessing). -
Once again we thank you Fredo,
for what you bring to the community of SketchUp that is unique.

Hi Fredo,
I downloaded this tool as part of Fredo6 tools pack. Makes Sketchup one of the most useful tools for architectural design. I constantly use it to report areas and update area schedules of projects. I now use sketchup as a 2d tool more and more. Bye autocad!!!
Thanks a lot!!!

Thanks for the comment. If you think there is additional functionality that could be useful, do not hesitate. This is not an area where I am myself familiar.

Hello, guys.
Finally I've a first post.
Fredo, thanks a lot for your tooling! It really helps!
My question is on exReportArea principle, that I'd like to turn to my needs. I used ReportArea (now ReportLabelArea) for the interior design. It works great. And I just checked this new one.
I'm not a Ruby pro, and maybe you should send me to the Ruby forum section. Now I'd like use SU as a mass-modeling tool, and it seems to me there's no simple plugin to do it (if there is one, please, post a link!). Revit or ArchiCAD methods sometimes are a bit clumsy in mass-modeling. And the cost isn't nice for a such simple task.
What I'd like to get a data structure in csv from SU model is as follows:- group
-- name
-- material area (e.g. 3 mats = 3 area values)
-- layer
-- volume
-- etc
The data structure appears to be an hierarchical one, because I'd like to get the parameters of each group/component from my model. Materials and naming are the core of the way of information mgmt I use within SU.
Almost the same for a Component. Actually if I get a long unformatted list of data, I could sort it in Excel.
Now I have no idea which code pattern to use -could you guide here? Any advices, links? I bought last week a brand-new book by Alex Schreyer, but it didn't help me.
Thanks in advance! - group

Just a note of thanks, Fredo, for a typically powerful multifaceted, super-documented and pleasing to behold tool-set. If I could master your tools alone, I would consider that quite a worthwhile accomplishment.

Thanks very much for the encouraging appreciation. This one came from a user request some time ago. It's a little bit complex because there are many options and situations where only the user can decide (like selecting a face, a surface or a component). So I have to leave the options open and provide some documentation.

Hello everyone,
I was trying to generate my first report on areas from a project I have and I came across this question.
Is it possible to report the area of a face minus the hole cutting component's areas attached to the face?
The entity info window reports them but I didn't find a way to do that on this tool.
Thank you fredo for all the unbelieveable tools... box stretching... perfect!

trying to "Export CSV" I get the error code: "Error in generation of CSV file: //filename.csv

This update is fantastic Fredo. This issue with glued components was the only thing keeping me from using it! Thank you very much!
