Look at it this way... As a 3rd party provider, you're providing excellent customer service for free...
I'm sure that without SCF, they would need to allocate extra resources...Perhaps if you announce that you're going to close SCF because of lacking income...

Joking aside. I wonder how much, in terms of probable extra manpower required to deliver SU support services, at the level delivered here, would Google SketchUp need to put in place?
I'm thinking along the lines of at least 3 full-time and possibly up to 5 - 6 part-time. Food for thought

I just read an article on this merger. It's seems Google is responding to Apple/MS teaming up in the patent wars. When big guys like these start flinging shit at one another the only winner will be the consumer.
With Google now taking a stake in the hardware market and it's openish source approach we'll be in for some interesting tech ahead.

I agree, with Google taking on Apple and Microsoft the only winners will be the consumers.
