Joint Push/Pull on Model Crashes SU
-
This model is causing me some grief. It is 2 halves of an Autonomous Rover.
I present the shell only in the attached. The rest of the bits were omitted to test.Whenever I try to JPP either 1/2 SU just vanishes. No bugsplat, just the desktop shows.

I can do the parts in pieces but that leaves me with a mess to cleanup to make it solid.
I want to create a solid 1/2 shell that is .5 inch thick (towards the inside). The shells you see are the exterior mold lines.
I select the whole 1/2 shell and pick JPP (Joint Push/Pull). I pull the face (either way does not matter) and the magenta lines appear.
I type .5 <enter> and the lines lock in place.
When I hit <enter> ... ByeBye SU.
I thought that the ends may be too close to parts of the other structure and moved them out. Did not work.
I tried all sorts of modifications but nothing works.
I can select multiple faces (but not the whole thing) and it does work.
I've done more complex stuff than this, but on my old PC and old ATI RADEON GPU. This one is an NVIDIA with more memory.Any ideas??

I tried boolean helper [ruby] to upscale 1000x then jpp to 250 inches seems to work...
you do have some stray geometry that might be throwing it off...
or try thomthom's shell

Stray geometry??? Where?

EDIT----------------------
I closed the 8 slots on the base unit and put a temp cover on it to form a solid. Using SI I found some extra lines and corrected them. Then scaled up 10X. This time SU crashed at about 75% along the JPP progress scale.
