I'm not sure how long I've had this problem, but I noticed this today:

Is this a known issue with some plugin? I've removed the last few I've installed trying to locate the problem but so far nothing changes. If I can help it I would like to avoid uninstalling my entire plugins folder due to the time it takes to reset everything. Ideas?

I've seen this before but I don't remember exactly what the cause is. What sticks in my mind is to look in the Plugins directory for sketchup.rb and delete it. There shouldn't be any instances of sketchup.rb in the Plugins directory; only in Tools. There has been at least one zipped plugin file that includes sketchup.rb which would explain how it gets loaded into your Plugins directory.

Again, my memory on this is fuzzy but it's something to check.

Good memory, Dave! I checked my settings at home and had the same problem with the menus. I found sketchup.rb in Plugins, removed it, and the extra items went away. I wonder what plugin came packaged that way?

Glad that worked. I don't think I ever discovered which one came that way. If I remember correctly, sketchup.rb used to live in the Plugins folder but it was moved to Tools in V6 or 7. I suppose the plugin was from before the move and having it included was no big deal then because it would either not get installed or would overwrite the original file.
