      Hello ,

I m using vray in SU first time, I am applying vray meterial to the objects.. just wanted to know how to give various material effects like shine, Matt finish, eitch glass effect, chrome effect, 2 sided material for cloths etc... help needed..if any tutorial pls let me know...

also i found one plug in called TECLA which i found from one of the thread in forum.. I installed it but tht is in some other language(not English may be Italian or French i don't know).. does any one have the English version of it or any manual how to use it.

For ref: it helps putting sun in arbitrary position.. so tht one can adjust light and shadows just to make the view nice..

      Thnks,

      Mandar karve

        Hi mandar
I never used a render programm before so Im pretty new to that stuff.I was thinking about to get V-ray and now Im not sure if I should or not.
is it actually good to use and is it also possible to create animations with it ?

Shine and other stuf you can add to the material editor to add a reflection or refraction layer. It is quite simple but i think you must learn the online tutorials ande there are plenty of it.

Register a the chaosgroup and there you find lots of tutorials

@ Dave : Vray is really vary powerful render engine you must try hands on it.. you will get awesome results in vray.
I even use vray with 3ds max, and now i m trying it in sketch up.. its gr8... you can definitely work on animation using vray.
