Any way to prevent intersection of components?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of a script, plugin or setting that would allow this:
I'm working on kitchens and I'm creating components for each base cabinet, wall cabinet, etc.
When inserting them they sometimes intersect and don't line up perfectly. Is there any way to enable a parameter to allow them to just be inserted and lined up as desired?

      Thanks a lot.

Are you actually making components of the cabinets or just drawing the boxes and moving them into place? If they are indeed components, they won't actually intersect although they might overlap.

You could move the component axes to make alignment easier. This might help.

I'm drawing the cabinets and then selecting and making them into components.

But I got it sorted out,
          The link did help!
          Thanks a lot! 😄

            Hi, Dave:
I think what jacobammon wants is convex hulls, or something like it--perhaps an extension of the solid inspection feature in native Sketchup. So would I. Say you got a bunch of furniture to push around, or a bunch of bananas you would like to arrange in a fruit bowl- I don't know.

Well, Sketchyphysics has convex hulls. But I don't know what you do with the file after applying physics to it.

Jacob, I'm glad you got things sorted.

Tim, I think you've got a cool idea. I was envisioning something where you might take a bunch of cabinets sort of placed randomly in the room, Then tilt the whole room so the cabinets slide back against the wall. Then tilt it to one side so they slide down to the corner. Then glue them to the floor so they stay put. I don't use Sketchy Physics but perhaps it could work that.

If that ever comes to pass, you can blame it on the "Blind Hog Syndrome".

This plugin may also help - certainly you need to make sure that each piece in your model is a solid component/group but with woodworking jobs, it is generally the case anyway.

                      Hi, Gaieus:
I must have been in a coma when that tool in your link was introduced. 💚
                      It looks very useful.
Still, there may be times when you don't want intrusion of adjacent geometry, which may be so complex, or convoluted for whatever reason, that you only want "tangential contact".
I can imagine that the "receiving" object would have to be locked down so that it would not move, while you pushed the other up against it.
As I said, Sketchyphysics probably does this, and it is probably the simplest operation that it does. However, I am not currently equipped to include SP in my workflow--as if I ever had a workflow.😆

Yes, AFAIK SP has some collision detection although I have not taken the bravery to plunge into it myself either (yet) so I am not sure how it would work...
