Default camera view?

When you open a new SketchUp file, what is the camera default? I ask because I typically click Camera/Standard Views/Iso to work in, and the axes lines change when I do that. But what are they changing *from?*It appears that the default is also an iso view, but thought I'd ask here.

I'm sure most of the old hands can't remember what the default view is, because we change it almost as soon as the program is installed/re-installed/upgraded to whatever we prefer. From memory, it does seem to be ISO plus figure. I repaired the installation recently, and new files started opening minus San or Sally...or my own template...but in a top-down ISO view, which is the way it always used to open in earlier versions.

I'd recommend that you create a file with all the properties that you prefer. These can not only include the actual view, but other stuff like shadow settings, location, background and units, then save that as a default template. You will then open a new file ready to start work immediately.
I know some people seem to prefer to work in parallel projection, but I personally find it too confusing. There are practical reasons for working in perspective mode too...it's almost impossible to routinely suffer from clipping issues (part of the model seeming to disappear when you try to zoom in on it). This is a phenomenon very common in // projection, because you've actually got no idea how close to anything you really are.

Thanks, Alan! A default template is a good idea, and I've got a few of those. I was just wondering about the default, though, because nothing is checked until I check "iso," and the screen does jump a bit, so I'm wondering what, exactly, is changing from the default.
