Hmm, not another social networking app.
Anyway it requires you to have Chrome to use right? I hate chrome so I won't be playing with them on this one.
-
It seems to work with firefox ok. But it also requires a G***** Profile.
(I never used Chrome but opensource Chromium for some time. If I used everything from one single company, I could tatoo "Google" on my forehead.)

Now you are saying that when you hang on FB so much!

No, I used it on my FF...

Is it any good? I just watched the guys at lifehackers messing with the video conferencing.
-
I dunno yet. I only have one contact (and no webcam for instance).

see now on http://live.twit.tv/ how it works

i am in and

Read about it last week. It looks interesting enough. I'm not a great fan of FB so maybe this would be a better option. BTW, got you 'invite' Csaba and responded.
-
Actually I do not know how these "invites" work. I just dragged and dropped some people from the suggested to some of my "circles". If that is an invite then there are a couple of invites but as I read, for the time being, not everyone will actually be added but they can "follow by email" (whatever that means...)

Hi all,
Another project in order to find an opensource alternative to facebook :
Cheers.

I'm in google+ though it's pretty useless on iPad.
-
Anyone got invitations for Google+. I saw the presentations and I'm a little curious about it.
Thanks.
-
Well, you've also got one
(Although again - I have no idea what the "effect" is when I simply add someone - although there are more and more people now that I know there...)
-
-
I got an invite but when I clicked I got to a page with a warning that my profile has been suspended.

What I missed in FB was that I cannot share things with certain groups I created.
you can show things to only certain people or groups on Facebook.
-
Yes but not custom lists. And if I only want to share with (say) my Hungarian buddies, I really do not want to type in several names.
@Pete: what address did you get your invite? And what account has been suspended? Your Google account? Is there any reason given?

Yes Gaieus you can share with just a custom list. just type the name of the list.

In FB, you can share things to custom lists, but it is very cumbersome (click on the padlock -> customize -> these people -> specific people -> type a custom list name). So in fact it is not intended to be used. That's why the FB stream contains lots of irrelevant posts...
On the other sides, there are several things in Google+ that are always exposed to people from outside the network (profile name, friend list).
