Hi,

the record of music from the Internet is still a legal gray zone. In Germany, I can legally record music from the radio but only for private use. This also applies to recorded music from Internet radio. Youtube is a special case. Actually, even the upload of copyrighted content is illegal and should be removed from YouTube. Therefore, it is not clear whether the record is not allowed for private use. But I'm not a lawyer. Perhaps there's someone who can clarify this issue really. I've already googled for this question but I have not yet found a clear answer.

Certainly there are general copyright laws (for each country, separately of course, although most "civilized" countries follow some universal guidelines often probably based on international agreements) BUT using the services of a certain company (or its website) binds you with special rules. These special rules (written in the TOS) cannot be more allowing than the general rules set up by the laws but they can be stricter.

We could, for instance, amend our TOS that you are only allowed to visit SCF wearing some red tanga. This would actually bind you (although of course the enforcement of such a rule would be a bit hard).
