I've got software like after effects and premiere pro but I'm looking for something quick and dirty for those cases where I'm doing some 100 frame animation tests and just want to preview it quickly. I'm hoping for a freeware sort of program that's nice and light.

      Any suggestions?

That's perfect. I forgot I actually had that on my system already. I wish you could actually install it rather than just running it from exe. I tend to forget about programs like that.

A lot members use QuickTime pro for compiling images but I find VD to be more comprehensive.

If you move it to Program Files and create a shortcut you've the same as a normal install. But I forget too with these type of downloads. I must have downloaded sculptris 20times already. πŸ˜’

Pin it to your start menu (Windows) and it's always available.

I used to forget all that kind of stuff, but I now just put them all into a Utilities folder on my Desktop. Every time I open it to use one of the little progs in there, I'm reminded of all the others too.

If using a Mac to compile jpg to avi/mov and flash I use Avidemux http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/ 100% free and you can resize enhance filters and many more options, this is not bad for the novice to use
