What will happen to the old Asgvis.com site?
-
Yeah, I wrote to support Friday, still nothing. Not able to post or anything.
-
Actually, I don't have posting access in any section of the forum.
-
-sigh- It'll get sorted out eventually. They are going through it by hand, like I said, so I guess it's taking longer than I thought.

So Devin - I'm somewhat confused. I saw you posted (at CG forums) that you don't have access to the vismats, so I went back to the chaosgroup support logon. They had a new page up where they asked for product purchase information, as well as forum username. There was an explanation about only registered owners having access to the forum. All well and good by me, but does that mean I'll have a new forum account without all my old posts? Or is that what is going on by hand, coordinating all the re-registrations with updating all the old forum accounts?
Also, I got the "You do not have enough permissions to this page!" warning as well when going to the downloads section.
I wish there was some better dissemination of information about all this.
Thanks for any insight you may have.Andy

Yeah, I don't have access to the vismat download page, just like most users. Honestly, I've been trying to avoid the forum as much as possible, because I'm not a support person, I'm a developer. The download section does not rely upon anything related to your forum account. I don't know about any forms or the migration process. All I had to do was enter in my username or something and click a button to reset my password, and my account migrated just fine (except for the permissions being completely wrong).
I don't know who is doing what, why, or how. I was told that the migration process was being hand picked, and that forum related issues should be resolved soon if they aren't already resolved. If anyone has any trouble with any aspect of the site, they need to contact support@asgvis.com so there can be a ticket about this. It's impossible to coordinate the support for this migration otherwise. I'm sorry I don't really have much more information about what's going on. When we were just ASGvis, all I had to do was shout to one of the other 9 people on the other side of the room to find out what was going on. Now we have to send emails, or catch a plane to find out... so it's going to take some time to get used to the way things work.

The support folks resolved all of this for me really quickly. Just shoot them and email. It was aggrevating at first but imagine migrating all your stuff over to a new system, not easy. A friend of mine has a saying, "How do you eat and elephant? One bite at a time."

Thanks Devin for taking the time to respond. I've got a support ticket in process and hopefully they can get me squared away at some point.
-
Why is it that I can only see the pdplayer forum on the chaos group forums?
-
hi guys
Although I was sad for what happened because we lost Asgvis our forum but I'm glad we hope to get more support VSU Because we want to get the Render such as Vmax
but they have bad support I lost my old account when I was Asgvis I want to recover but they are not answer I made new Account and I don't know what happen I cant do anything when I want to make post or reply apper thisNote that my account is activation

I think you need to register for their support on the main chaosgroup webpage. I had to submit a support ticket to get my registration stuff fixed. Once you are in their system, they may be able to get your forum account up and running. At least that's the way it worked for me.

hopefully now everything runs within the normal range before

They got my account fixed yesterday. I can see all the forums now. Have not tried to post yet though.
