How to install plugins
-
OK, the question suggests I'm pretty new at this. The answer is yes. I'm making big progress and starting to add plugins for specific issues. First one WELD downloaded to my download folder, I moved it to the SU8 plugin folder and when I opened SU, there it was under Plugins. Same with CurveShearing. But not so straight-forward with others: bezierspline.rb (I downloaded, right clicked to Open, then moved all those files and folders to SU Plugins -- nothing happened and the plugin did not appear on the toolbar). Also recurve, revertcurve and utilities and a few others that either came with the main SU program download or I downloaded and copied to SU Plugins folder....none of those appear in the Plugin toolbar. What do I need to do, or undo, or re-do? Thanks for your help. ScottR

Hi Scott,
Those may be the more complex ones with several files and therefore zipped. Have a look at this topic:

Thanks Gaieus
I do have beziersplines coming up on SU now, except that when I open the program I get a notice:Error Loading File ZLoader__Curviloft.rb
no such file to load -- LibFredo6.rbI downloaded the LibFredo6 file but guess I don't know where it belongs -- even after I moved it to SU Plugins folder I get the error message.
And Curviloft -- I'm at a loss there, too. Do I just delete and re-download?
many thanks for your help

Download those zip archives somewhere and open them. Then simply copy the content under the Plugins folder. You can try to extract them straight under that folder, too, but then watch out because Windows will want to add an extra subfolder under which it places the files. Do not let it but delete the extraction string back to the plugins folder.

@Gaieus:
I think the error message suggests that he hasn't downloaded Libfredo6. -

Well, he says...

...so that's why I think it's an unpacking error.

Thanks to all. I got it. Deleted all those original files and zips, then re-downloaded. Win7 does not like to extract from/to the same location so I extracted from "Downloads" to Plugins and everything seems to be working fine...at least no error messages. Now to practice and learn to use. Thanks
