OK..so I imported a set of contours and essentially skinned it using the Sandbox tool.
I want to create the skirt and close the object so it is essentially a solid.

Once it's a solid, I can perform cut and fill activity on a clone and cmpare the volumes of both.

      Any ideas?

      TIA

An image of your model would help us understand what you need to do, but I'll try...

Select the edges (make sure its a closed loop) around the exterior of the model, use TIG's EE by Vector to extrude those lines down, draw a rectangle under your contours, then intersect the skirt and the rectangle and clean up the extra.

Use Thomthom's Solid Inspector to check for holes.
