        Hi Keith,

Are there any changes to this since the version you sent to me? I tried it a little bit late one night but I was having problems. I was also having a hard time staying awake so I put it down to that figuring I'd get back to it. Well, I haven't yet but I will.

        Cheers,

        Dave

p.s. Is there any chance you can run your video through something to convert it to WMV, or some other compressed file type? 95 Mb is a pretty good sized file. And, probably do to the host, it looks like almost half an hour to download on my speedy connection here at work.

            Hi,

Good job. You are refering to an older script 'Woodwrk2'. Where can we find it ?

Dave there are changes since I sent it to you. I actually found that it did not load except thru the ruby console. I revised the menu then as I worked on dowels I needed to enter fractions so I worked on the input form to accept fractions and equations along with numbers.

I am very new to the video stuff and tried to convert it to a flash file but it is very hard to see. I did zip the file and got it down to 17mb so I will post that.

This file uploaded in 3min and my net is not very fast.

                Nice Work !!

I tried it with Sketchup 8, and it works fine ... But, if I change the "Units" setting from "inches" to "Metric", thats an other story ...

                Thanks,

                Yves

Beluga: I looked at the ruby code site and it seems all no's are stored in inches in SU even if you use a metric template. I would need to work on that if it was a desired option.

Keith, could you post the videos on Youtube or Blip.tv? That would make it easier for folks to watch them.

Dave I don't seem to be a YouTube kind of guy. I don't expect to write many rb files so I think this will have to do. I would like to have the woodworkers that use SU at least give the program a try. I tested the download and viewing on my old desk top and it was easy and seemed quick to me.

I have expanded on this program and released a Joint tool for woodworkers. See this post http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=39870#p352395 It is still a work in progress but I think quite useable at this point. There still is the problem that I don't incude a visual tutoral. As the author I think its easy but I am sure that users may not see it this way. However if you look at the included drawing and practice on the joints I have included there I think its managable. Use the xray setting so you can see what is happening and as always a "undo" puts every thing back and you can test new data.

I downloaded the tutorial when it came out, it is very big, and can't be sent back by email, so I have change the format and put it in a zip file. Now it can be sent by email. Also, this is a no sound tutorial, just to let you know.
