I have been using SketchupPro 8 for a few weeks now. (Student license)
All of a sudden it won't open.
Issue message: "Sketchup.exe The application has failed to start because msvct-ruby18.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
Question: Should I uninstall then install (Download)?
Also can I use the same serial number and activation Number?

Can't help you with your question, but did you try to search for the missing file? Perhaps you can restore your system to an earlier point when SU was working.

I would re-install and yes your registration is your own to use again and again, I believe you just can't have more than one computer running it at the same time.

I always worry when things are working and stop all of a sudden. You may want to think about what you were doing/ making changes just before this happened so you can prevent it in the future.

While I do not know what may have caused your issue either, a restore-install may help - or if not, a complete uninstall-reinstall. Ideally your licensing info should remain but you can always re-license your copy with the code sent to you by email (and yes, you can always re-use that license as long as it is still valid - for student licenses, generally for one academic year or what).
