Set page print to landscape?
-
Is there any way to set SU to always have the print to landscape? I almost never print in Portrait. Each document I create I always have to go into print setup and switch the default from portrait to Landscape. I've tried setting in the template but new files revert to portrait. I'd prefer not to set it in the printer as my other apps mostly need Portrait.

In Windows, SketchUp prints to a printer, not to a format. If you object to the extra clicks when you print, then create a duplicate printer that prints to landscape instead of portrait.
- Open the printers and faxes folder and right click on your printer, in this example 'HP100'. Select Properties.
- Click on Ports tab, look for the port, something like "USB001" "Virtual printer port..." . Write it down.
- Start the Add Printer wizard, and on the port drop down select the exact same port above.
- On the driver page, select the printer (if displayed) or put in the printer's driver disk.
- At the 'replace or use the installed driver' prompt, use the installed one.
-- It is your call whether to make this 'new' printer your default printer. - In the printer's folder, rename the printer to something like 'HP100 landscape' or 'SketchUps printer'
- Right click on the printer, select Printing Preferences.
- Make Landscape the Printer Orientation, click on Apply then on the OK button. Just clicking the 'OK' button doesn't always change it permanently.

Under the File tab go to Print Setup (not print or print preview). There should be general options including page orientation.

This works, but the setting is not "sticky", at least on Mac. You have to repeat it every time. SketchUp does not appear to save a default page orientation.

@Steve, if you select the 'Save as Default' in the 'Setting' dropdown it will stay 'sticky'...
always has for me at least...

I have not seen this window before. Can someone tell me where in the menu structure it can be found?
Thanks,
Randy
